Hi everyone!

A New Year – A New Forum. For me anyway, though I know this place has been around for awhile now.

Thank you, Ratzigirl, for opening up this section for English-speaking Ratzi fans. Very much appreciate your gesture. Thanks also to Teresa Benedetta for posting the registration instructions in English. If it wasn’t for you, I’d never be able to figure it out on my own. I hope in the process of picking up a few Italian words, although you don’t have to tell me the meaning of words like “STUNC!” and “SMUACK!” Those are UNIVERSALE! I'm already learning what the words inserisci (insert), anteprima (preview), and annulla (cancel) mean while I'm typing my first message here.

I’ve decided to join in on the fun here too, in addition to being a member at the RFC board. I’ve been lurking up to now, mostly because I didn’t feel I had much of anything to contribute. But the fun and “choy” is infectious here and I love Papa Benedict just as much as the rest of you “nut cases”. The volume of new pictures everyday all around the forum is amazing and I love the cute animations & smilies too. I’m usually stuck at work during the day (I’m in the east coast U.S.A.) so I usually can’t be online during the day but I do look in here and in RFC when I get home at nights. Most of you in Europe are already asleep by that time but that is the great thing about internet forums. It doesn’t matter what time it is because you can connect to people from different time zones anywhere in the world whenever you’re ready to post anything. I’m also a big fan of the fabulous looking Don Giorgio - or “Cioccio” as he’s called here. He must be the handsomest private secretary in the history of papal secretaries (and that list must be a long one!). I love looking at pics of him too. We are blessed with some very beautiful people in the Holy See, but not beautiful in any “Hollywood” sense. Hollywood’s definition of “the beautiful people” is only a hollow surface attractiveness with no recognition of the divine beauty that radiates from God. The type of beauty one sees on Papa is outward, yes, but it is also profoundly Godly and holy inside, which only enhances his splendid looks outside. That’s one of the reasons why people almost instinctively “connect” with those like Papa when they see the inherent goodness internally of someone who is handsome or beautiful on the outside. The two don’t always go together but when it does, it is genuine.

I am really glad to see you here. I always enjoy your posts on the RFC. Don't worry about adding the extra thread. I think we have all done the same thing. As you have seen from lurking, we have a very lively and creative group here and always in need of visual stimulation, although there does seem to be a tendency towards over-stimulation at times. That seems to be a significant symptom of Benaddiction. Anyhow, I hope your stay here fills you with as much choy as we all are experiencing.

Teresa: Though I wish it was, where I am now is light years away from being the legendary Elvish refuge of Imladris. It's still a nice area where I live, I can't complain. But it's definitely no Middle-Earth. I go and re-read Tolkien whenever I want to return to that other-world again. :

Well Nessuna, my own mixed salad consists of Colombia (my father was born in Barranquilla) and the Dominican Republic (my mother born in Santo Domingo, the capital) with me and my sisters born in the U.S. (New York City). So we both have Latino backgrounds.

As for the GG offer-OH YES! thank you so much, I appreciate it. You're talking to the right lady. I'm always looking for new GG pics & articles. I have a little collection already but I'd love to see what you have.
